STAFF:
Dr. James Himmelberg ("Dr. Jim"):

Hi there! If you come to our hospital, I am usually the doctor on duty. I go by "Dr. Jim" because it is a lot easier to say than "Himmelberg". I graduated in 1981 from Creighton University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in chemistry. After 4 more years, I graduated with honors from the Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. For the first 5 years following graduation, I worked in a mixed practice just outside of Omaha on cats, dogs, ferrets, cattle, pigs and horses. I guess you could say I followed the lead of "All Creatures Great and Small" by James Herriot, DVM. In 1991, I came to Lincoln, and joined the staff at Belmont Veterinary Center, a small animal practice. I was on staff at Belmont until June, 2009, when Vintage Heights Veterinary Hospital opened. I enjoy the challenges of internal medicine and have a special fondness for surgery, whether it is soft tissue or orthopedic. I am married (23 years) to my wife Kebbelin, and we have two sons, Taylor and Kyle. We also have a black and white "Tuxedo" cat named Sox and three wonderful Golden Retrievers, Jasmine, Ranger, and Willow. I am active in the Boy Scouts (Taylor and I have earned the Eagle rank) and enjoy camping, woodworking and bicycling. Thanks for visiting us on the Web and I look forward to seeing you and your pet at Vintage Heights!
Wendy Blake, LVT:

I graduated from Waverly High School in 1986 and joined the US Army in 1987 where I received my veterinary technician training and license. I was stationed in Connecticut for 5 years and then moved to Alabama with the military for another 3 years. My son Christopher and I moved back to Lincoln in 1999. We have two cats, Jada and Skippy McFinnegan and one dog, A'kira. I worked previously with Dr. Himmelberg at Belmont Veterinary Center and am happy to be at Vintage Heights Veterinary with him again.
Amanda Lyons, Receptionist:

"Vintage Heights Veterinary Hospital, this is Amanda, how can I help you?" That is the first thing you will hear from me when you call our clinic, and I am always happy to to hear from you!
I currently live in Lincoln, NE. but grew up in a small town near Beatrice, NE. I worked at Subway for about 5 years, "keeping it fresh". When I moved up to Lincoln, I started my experience in the veterinarian receptionist field at Belmont Veterinary Center. There I worked as a receptionist for about 4 years. When Dr. Himmelberg opened his clinic I knew I had to work for him because he is just that good.
Captain Morgan is my cat, and oh what a feisty one he is. All black and very mischievous is he, but I love him. I saved him from being put down when he was 7 months old and would do it all over again if I had to. So come on down and see me, or call me... I'd be glad to help you and your pet.

Ryan Taft, Receptionist
Hello everyone, my name is Ryan and I am excited to be a member of the Vintage Heights Veterinary staff. I am a native Nebraskan with a two year old Siamese mix cat named "Stormy" who loves to play fetch. I have been working in the veterinary field for some time now and am always excited to meet new clients and their pets and to get to know them. I love working at a veterinary hospital that has a personal touch, so please come on by. And if you see a tall guy with a smile on his face when you first come in.... it's probably me. So say "Hi"....

Hello,

Hi, the name's Vinnie , Tomcat greeter at Vintage Heights Veterinary, and I have been here since I was just a small bundle of fur. The staff at Vintage Heights Veterinary make sure I have food in my tummy, a warm place to sleep and they let me know when I get out of line.
